The Apple Valley Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell 31-22 to Silver Valley. Apple Valley Christian found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 70% worse than the opposition.
Despite the defeat, Apple Valley Christian had strong showings from Jocelynn LoPorto, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and five blocks, and Della Edsell, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks. It was the first time this season that LoPorto pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Even though they lost, Apple Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Silver Valley found their leader in underclassman Sydney Trotter, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Serwaah Sarpong, who scored seven points.
Apple Valley Christian dropped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Silver Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
