Putnam County's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Jasper County on Tuesday. Everything went the War Eagles' way against the McNair Mustangs as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The War Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th.
Branan Griffin was incredible, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tanner Lukens, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Putnam County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McNair only posted an OBP of .444.
Putnam County's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for McNair, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.
Coming up, Putnam County will take on Locust Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McNair will be paying especially close attention to the War Eagles' contest: after the War Eagles faces off against the Wildcats, they'll take on McNair again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
