Meanwhile, Xavier Prep can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 68-28 victory over Palm Desert at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-16.
Xavier Prep found their leader in underclassman Grace Thomsen, who went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomsen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffany Chang, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
Rancho Mirage bumped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.8 points per game. As for Xavier Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Rancho Mirage was dealt a bruising 60-13 loss at the hands of Xavier Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rancho Mirage was down 35-4.
