After flying high against the Elba Bluejays last Saturday, the High Plains Storm came back down to earth. High Plains' tough 64-44 loss to the Mustangs on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. If High Plains was looking for revenge after losing 43-16 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Peyton Hofmann was High Plains' leading scorer, having posted 14 points.
Meridian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ana Dimas, who scored 16 points along with eight assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dimas has scored all season. Jaylee Sobotka was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
High Plains has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Meridian, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
High Plains will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for East Butler: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Storm have snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Meridian will take on the Bulldogs at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. Osceola is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
