Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Truman

Truman extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 7-6. They put the hurt on the Raytown Bluejays with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Truman got a massive performance out of Kailyn Albiar, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Tori Shearer was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Truman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .536 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

As for Raytown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Raytown's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Young, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Grace Haynes also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Coming up, Truman is taking a road trip to take on Fort Osage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raytown, they will take on Winnetonka at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
