Mountain View is 0-10 against Marshall since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Vikings will face off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Mountain View not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4th. They blew past El Monte 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

ALEX MORENO made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Mountain View is undefeated when MORENO posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on LUKE DAVILA, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Mountain View's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of ADRAIN PERALTA, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Marshall never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on El Monte with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ben Level looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
At the plate, Trevor Lain was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. Kaden Mullins also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Monte only posted an OBP of .318.
Marshall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, their record now sits at 9-7.
Mountain View suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Marshall in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
