The Pacifica Tritons will square off against the Monrovia Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pacifica 2.8, Monrovia 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Pacifica is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand California an 8-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Tritons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The result came thanks to Alex Villicana's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordyn Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Devon Wilkes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Pacifica was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Monrovia had just enough and edged out Capistrano Valley Christian 5-3 on Friday.
Monrovia also got a great performance from James Quesenbery as he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Isaias Hernandez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Sully Zinn was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Monrovia's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Pacifica, their win bumped their record up to 20-9.
Everything went Pacifica's way against Monrovia in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Pacifica made off with an 8-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tritons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
