On Tuesday, the stars were shining brightly for Lynwood in a 62-47 win over Millennium. The win was all the more spectacular given Lynwood's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 170th in California, while Millennium is ranked 30th in Arizona).
Lynwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taliyah Mcferson led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kimiko Kennedy was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Lynwood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Millennium, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.
Lynwood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Perry at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th. Millennium will be staying on the road on December 28th to face off against Village Christian at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th.
