The North Star Cougars were the 45-33 winner over the Ferndale Yellow Jackets when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. North Star ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-25 walloping at the hands of Ferndale on Tuesday. North Star can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their three games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ferndale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maisen Sechrengost, who scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Deajah Chatman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
North Star's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ferndale, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
North Star will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Blacklick Valley at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Blacklick Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday. As for Ferndale, they will head out on the road to face off against Conemaugh Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Conemaugh Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
