Even though the Sherman Oaks CES Knights have not done well against the Vaughn White Tigers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Sherman Oaks CES walked away with a 42-34 win over Vaughn. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sherman Oaks CES.
Sherman Oaks CES found their leader in underclassman Neriah Adjei, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Despite the loss, Vaughn still got an impressive performance from Andrea Cervantes, who scored 29 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Cervantes scored a full 85.3% of Vaughn's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sherman Oaks CES now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Vaughn, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Sherman Oaks CES will be playing in front of their home fans against East Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Valley's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Sherman Oaks CES's offense will have their work cut out for Sherman Oaks CES. Vaughn's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fulton at 3:30 p.m. on December 14th. Fulton is on a three-game streak of home losses, Vaughn a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
