The Saint Joseph Jesters's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Serra on the road and fell 50-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Saint Joseph has suffered since December 5, 2023.
They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Philicity Palacio and
Olivia Martinez, who each put up seven points.
Maleda Bezuayeho took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Serra to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylah Holmes, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Holmes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Jadah Foster was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Saint Joseph has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Serra, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Saint Joseph will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bishop Conaty-Loretto at 6:00 p.m. Bishop Conaty-Loretto is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Serra, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Amat at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
