Kennedy and Chavez are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Thunderbirds will face off against the Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Kennedy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Delano last Friday as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Jorge Vega made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Jordan Palomo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Joshua Gonzales was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Wasco hit Chavez with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by just one run.
Benji Perez led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jayden Popoy, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Chavez's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10-1. As for Kennedy, their record is now 12-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kennedy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chavez struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kennedy might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Chavez in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
