Branford is 1-9 against Lafayette since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Branford will square off against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Branford will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Dixie County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Branford blew past Dixie County 13-4 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jackson Skinner was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Kyler Williamson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Skinner wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Branford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lafayette came tearing into Monday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cowboys as they made off with a 12-1 win.
Garrett Taylor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over six innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Tuten, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Trevor Byrd, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lafayette's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Branford, their record now sits at 11-5.
Branford suffered a grim 17-0 defeat to Lafayette in their previous matchup back in February. Can Branford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
