The Righetti Warriors will take on the Maranatha Minutemen at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
Righetti had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but La Quinta put an end to it on Thursday. The Warriors came up short against the Blackhawks, falling 6-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.
Noah Farris was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March.
Meanwhile, Maranatha had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Sharks.
Jacob Yun looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Gabe Barragan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Maranatha was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Maranatha's victory bumped their record up to 13-6-1. As for Righetti, they moved to 13-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Righetti has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Maranatha struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
