North is 5-0 against Cerritos since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Saxons will head out on the road to face off against the Cerritos Dons at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past South 77-45 at home. 77 seems to be a good number for North as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Cerritos got the win against Foothill on Saturday by a conclusive 60-38. Given Cerritos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Foothill is ranked 804th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Cerritos, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Everything went North's way against Cerritos in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as North made off with a 66-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
