Penn Cambria is 6-1 against Central since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Penn Cambria Panthers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Central Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Penn Cambria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Last Friday, Penn Cambria came up short against Central Cambria and fell 60-48.
Despite the defeat, Penn Cambria saw an underclassman step up: Reagan Ronan scored six points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Ronan is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Andersen, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Central took a serious blow against Bishop Guilfoyle on Friday, falling 62-33. While losing is never fun, Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while Bishop Guilfoyle is ranked 40th).
Penn Cambria now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Penn Cambria was able to grind out a solid victory over Central in their previous matchup on December 8th, winning 45-34. Will Penn Cambria repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
