On Monday, it was a hard-fought game, but Escondido had to settle for a 35-32 defeat against Bayfront Charter.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaedyn Shepherd , who scored 4 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Reyes, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
Bayfront Charter had a senior duo take command as Jaidyn Camiling scored 18 points along with 4 steals and Karizma Garcia scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Camiling has scored at least 25% of Bayfront Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Julieana Enriquez, who scored 6 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Escondido's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bayfront Charter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Escondido will face off against Valhalla at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Valhalla focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday. Bayfront Charter will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Castle Park at 7:00 p.m. on November 29th.
