The Carter Lions entered their tilt with the La Sierra Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Carter strolled past La Sierra with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 40-25. Given Carter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while La Sierra is ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stephanie Adecer and Eunice Castro certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Adecer scored nine points along with four steals, while Castro scored two points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Adecer is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Carter is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for La Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Summit at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Summit is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. La Sierra will be home for the holidays to greet Canyon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Canyon Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 41 on Tuesday.
