Stagg and McNair are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Stagg Delta Kings will challenge the McNair Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Stagg really took it to Weston Ranch for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-34 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Delta Kings just coasted through the last quarter.

Destiny Martinez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten steals. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Alexis Munoz was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.
Stagg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, McNair entered their tilt with Franklin on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 65-48 win over the Yellowjackets. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 397th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 965th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stagg better focus on containing Kalysa Phanhsavang and Anjulie Navarro as the pair were huge in McNair's win. Phanhsavang went 12 of 18 en route to 28 points along with six assists and six steals, while Navarro dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals. The dominant performance gave Navarro a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Saniyah Robinson, who posted eight points.
McNair has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Stagg, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Stagg has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 34.3 boards per game. However, it's not like McNair struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Stagg was taken down by McNair 71-24 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Stagg was down 32-9.
