The Kennedy Thunderbirds will head out to face off against the Legacy Christian Academy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Kennedy put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Delano. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbirds.

Felipe Velasquez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eric Ruiz and Jordan Palomo did most of the damage at the plate: Ruiz went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Palomo went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Palomo has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andres Gonzalez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.
Kennedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy made easy work of Alpaugh on Monday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Buffalos recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Like Kennedy, Legacy Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Chase Newlen. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Newlen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Kirstine, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Max Gaskins also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Kennedy's record now sits at 7-11. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their record is now 12-5-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kennedy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Legacy Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .328.
