Make it 13 blowout wins for the Xavier Prep Saints this season. They blew past La Quinta 65-23 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Xavier Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amoree Ferrel, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Tiffany Chang was another key contributor, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 2 assists.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, La Quinta struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Xavier Prep has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which somehow isn't as good as their 18-5 record this season. As for La Quinta, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Xavier Prep will head out on the road to square off against Rancho Mirage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Mirage will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1292nd, while Xavier Prep is ranked 225th). As for La Quinta, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Palm Desert at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
