The Lincoln Lions's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They snuck past Prospect with a 31-27 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Lincoln's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Prospect is ranked 212th).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Japneet Dhillon, who scored six points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Dhillon posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Kate Barstow, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Prospect, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3.
Lincoln will take on Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prospect, they will head out on the road to face off against Piedmont Hills at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Piedmont Hills has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
