The Porterville Panthers won the last time they faced the Redwood Rangers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Porterville secured a 47-43 W over Redwood. The win made it back-to-back wins for Porterville.
Porterville was led to victory by Sare Ortiz and Ryleigh Schoonover. Ortiz scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Schoonover dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Schoonover has scored at least a third of Porterville's points.
Porterville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Redwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Porterville will take on Golden West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Porterville is facing Golden West at the right time seeing as Golden West is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Redwood, they will head out on the road to take on Monache at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Monache will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Redwood surely won't give up without a fight.
