Arvada extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping them up to 5-1. They blew past the Alameda Pirates 19-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five games by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Alyssa Moreno made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Abby Lopez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Amaya Krantz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Arvada kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
As for Alameda, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Alameda's side, Katelyn Nault made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaretzi Lopez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
Coming up, Arvada will face off against Fort Lupton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alameda, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
