There's no place like home for the Poway Titans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Cathedral Catholic on Tuesday as Poway made off with a 66-40 victory. With that victory, Poway brought their scoring average up to 52.5 points per game.
Poway's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ari Mason, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Parsons, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Cathedral Catholic still got an impressive performance from Maddie Moeller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Moeller scored a full 30% of Cathedral Catholic's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alana Brackett was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Poway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Cathedral Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poway will challenge Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Academy of Our Lady of Peace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 539th, while Poway is ranked 131st). As for Cathedral Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Torrey Pines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
