While Beach's win against Johnson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Atomsmashers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Atomsmashers since March 9, 2018.

Beach got a massive performance out of Immanuel Scott, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases and two runs. DaMario West was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and two runs.

Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Beach's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Beach will be playing at home against Savannah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson, they will take on Islands at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Sharks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
