The Lower Lake Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Upper Lake with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. The victory was some much needed relief for Lower Lake as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Lower Lake had a senior duo take command as Rebecca Theodorou dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds and Tiahna Tubbs scored 12 points along with seven steals. Tubbs is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Serenity McCoy, who scored eight points along with six assists.
Lower Lake's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Upper Lake, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Lower Lake will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Calistoga at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Upper Lake will be home for the holidays to greet Kelseyville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kelseyville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Upper Lake in California (Kelseyville is ranked 462nd, while Upper Lake is ranked 1138th).
