Softball Recap: Chatfield Find Success

Chatfield won the last time they faced Ralston Valley and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Chargers walked away with a 5-2 win over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Isabella Leech made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.

Leech wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Avry Aukland, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Chatfield's record is now 10-12. As for Ralston Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Chatfield will square off against Bear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.9 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ralston Valley, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Rocky Mountain on the 9th.
