Central Valley and Patterson are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Central Valley Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Patterson Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Central Valley barely beat Beyer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Central Valley's way against Beyer on Thursday as Central Valley made off with a 9-2 win. The Hawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st.

Nicholas Dominguez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Central Valley is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Central Valley let Fernando Dominguez and Isaias Valdovinos run wild. Dominguez scored a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Valdovinos scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Valdovinos has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Edgar Peralta, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Patterson, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mountain House 3-1.
Max Medina made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Guy Allard was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Nikolas Guerrero also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Patterson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Central Valley, their record is now 8-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Central Valley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Patterson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
