The Edison Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Tokay Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Saturday just wasn't the day for Edison's offense. They came up short against Ripon on Saturday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Edison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Avila, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Avila has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Tokay made easy work of Franklin on Thursday and carried off an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Conner Preap spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Paul Buckley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Van Dyke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Tokay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in five consecutive games.
Tokay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, they moved to 8-11-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Edison has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Tokay struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edison suffered a grim 22-5 defeat to Tokay in their previous meeting back in February of 2020. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
