Richmond has gone a perfect 3-0 against Telstar recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bobcats will welcome the Rebels at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Richmond 1.6, Telstar 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Richmond will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Sacopee Valley, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bobcats won by a run and slipped past the Hawks 3-2.
Richmond's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cody Fournier, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Telstar entered their tilt with Temple Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Bereans get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 11 runs or more this season.
Bryson Walker and Connor Deprey made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Walker didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Deprey struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Walker has posted since back in April. At the plate, Walker went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Deprey went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That home run was Walker's first of the season.
In other batting news, Telstar got a massive performance out of Brennan Walker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Walker has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Maceo Bartlett, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Telstar was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temple Academy only posted a batting average of .045.
Telstar's victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Everything went Richmond's way against Telstar when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Richmond made off with a 12-2 victory. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
