Orange Glen is 2-8 against Tri-City Christian since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Orange Glen Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tri-City Christian Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Orange Glen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
While Orange Glen's victory against Coastal Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Orange Glen had just enough and edged out Coastal Academy 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since March 27, 2024.

Jacob Morales made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Orange Glen: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Morales was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Alex Martinez was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI. He also got three hits, which is notable because Orange Glen is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 1-2 otherwise. Adrian Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Orange Glen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Pacific Ridge on Tuesday and fell 7-6. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.
Campbell Gritzen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Chang, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Having lost for the first time this season, Tri-City Christian fell to 2-1. As for Orange Glen, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orange Glen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .540. However, it's not like Tri-City Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .500. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Orange Glen came up short against Tri-City Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, falling 7-3. Will Orange Glen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
