RICHFIELD, Minn. -
Chanhassen (Minn.) saw its 20-point lead shrink to eight, but hung on to beat
Academy of Holy Angels (Richfield, Minn.) 28-20 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Nathan Johnson touchdown run in the second quarter, the Storm led 7-0 at the half.
Chanhassen grew its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown.
The victory avenged Chanhassen's close 35-33 loss to the Stars last season.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Storm, who were coming off a 35-21 defeat at the hands of Chaska in its previous game. The loss comes after Academy of Holy Angels defeated New Prague 53-13 last week. The victory ended Chanhassen's two-game losing streak.
In a Missota game next week Academy of Holy Angels (1-2) takes on Shakopee, and Chanhassen (1-2) will go up against Northfield also in a Missota game.
