The Marshall Eagles will square off against the Arroyo Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Marshall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Mountain View with a sharp 14-4 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Elijah Lain made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Marshall is 3-1 when Lain allows three or fewer earned runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Lain was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, David Ouch was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Liam Wahlstrom, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Marshall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.6.
Meanwhile, Arroyo never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against South El Monte, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since April 21, 2025.
The result came thanks to Oscar Lopez's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Arroyo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Mardueno, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Marshall's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Arroyo, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
