Basketball Game Preview: St. Hubert Catholic for Girls vs. Archbishop Wood Vikings

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls is 0-9 against Archbishop Wood since January of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. St. Hubert Catholic for Girls will challenge the Archbishop Wood Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While St. Hubert Catholic for Girls didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Warrior Run by a score of 25-18 on Saturday. Given St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Warrior Run is ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Luca D'Andrea continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up six points along with 11 boards and four steals. D'Andrea is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciera Miller, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Wood entered their tilt with Archbishop Ryan on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 74-31 victory over the Raiders and Ragdolls. That looming 74-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

Archbishop Wood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Hubert Catholic for Girls, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls took a serious blow against Archbishop Wood in their previous matchup back in February, falling 63-22. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point St. Hubert Catholic for Girls was down 56-9.
