El Dorado got a great performance from Jacob Alvarez as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Alvarez a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brady Abner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aiden McNaughton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
El Dorado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palos Verdes only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Simi Valley entered their game against Royal on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Simi Valley fell just short of Royal by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Pioneers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jackson Goshorn was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Simi Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quentin McGahan, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Andrew Nicklaus also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
El Dorado's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Simi Valley, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.
