BECKER, Minn. -
Becker (Minn.) maintained a perfect record in conference play with a 49-7 victory over Milaca (Minn.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on an
Austen Soare touchdown run in the first quarter, the Bulldogs were up 30-7 at the half.
Becker expanded its lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Sawyer Knick.
Michael Veldman stood out for the Bulldogs in the win. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
Milaca's only touchdown came on a 5-yard pass from Nathan Hass to Nic Wolbert in the second quarter.
Becker came into the game allowing 8.0 points per game.
BHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 61-6.
Becker (5-1) will play a Granite Ridge game against St. Cloud Cathedral next week, while Milaca (1-5) will take on Zimmerman also in a Granite Ridge game.
