Kayson Mathabela Turns in Season-Best Performance
Bowie was led to victory by Kayson Mathabela, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Mathabela rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
This year, Mathabela has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 92 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 41 rushing yards per game.

Dripping Springs was led to victory by Maddox Maher, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Maher threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
Austin's probably not too fond of Maher given he always seems to get the better of them. When Maher last faced the Maroons back in September of 2023, he threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

Jack Tyndall Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Jack Tyndall produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Dripping Springs to the win on Friday. Tyndall rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (104.5) per game. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Tyndall might have his next game, a home matchup with Bowie, circled on his calendar. Tyndall rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in September of 2023.

Clark Made His Presence Known in Westlake's 70-0 Win
Westlake found a leader in Elijah Clark as the team took down Akins on Thursday. Nobody could stop Clark as he rushed for 75 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.
This season, Clark has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 36 rushing yards per game.

Grady Bartlett Makes It Two for Westlake
Keeping Clark company is Grady Bartlett, a fellow Westlake player. He rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown.
If the past is any indication, Bartlett could be in store for another big game when he takes on Austin on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Bartlett saw the Maroons), he rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries.
