Baseball Recap: Lakeview Charter's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lakeview Charter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Northridge Academy Pumas 8-7. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory the Pumas walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Angel Vazquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Vazquez was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

Vazquez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Ornelas, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Lakeview Charter's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Northridge Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Lakeview Charter has already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against Fulton on the 3rd. As for Northridge Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Triumph Charter on the 10th.
