Even though the Pleasant Valley Vikings scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Vanden Vikings still came out on top. Vanden walked away with a 66-55 victory over Pleasant Valley. That's another feather in the cap for Vanden, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ Gambol, who scored 17 points along with 6 assists. Gambol scored a full 30.9% of Pleasant Valley's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Vickery, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds.
Vanden's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Pleasant Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanden will take on Oakland Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nevada Union at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
