The Casa Roble Rams lost against the Pioneer Patriots on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Casa Roble was dealt a 74-22 loss at the hands of Pioneer. Casa Roble was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.
Casa Roble's loss came despite strong showings from Savannah Sanders and Natalie Mathieson. Sanders scored nine points, while Mathieson scored eight points.
Olivia Gill was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds for Pioneer. Gill hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 21 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Keziah Maldonado-lemus, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 assists.
Casa Roble's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-21. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for Pioneer, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.
Casa Roble will be playing at home against Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pioneer, they will head out on the road to face off against Mesa Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mesa Verde will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 847th, while Pioneer is ranked 231st).
