It was a good run, but the Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-28 to St. Francis. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cosumnes Oaks in their matchups with St. Francis: they've now lost three in a row.
Cosumnes Oaks lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabel Tan, who scored nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Tan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kailee Tisdale, who scored five points along with two steals.
St. Francis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Teoh, who scored 15 points. Bria McGahan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Cosumnes Oaks' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for St. Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cosumnes Oaks' road trip will continue as they head out to face Elk Grove at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Elk Grove comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Franklin will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
