The Culver City Centaurs will head out on the road to challenge the Royal Highlanders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Culver City fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Serra on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 7-6. The Centaurs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Nolan Riesenberg was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Culver City: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Matthew Riesenberg, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Royal made easy work of West on Thursday and carried off a 13-4 victory. Considering the Highlanders have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Royal gave Dustin Dunwoody the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Dunwoody has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Dayne Peters was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Talley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Royal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West only posted an OBP of .371.
Royal is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Culver City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1.
Culver City beat Royal 5-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Centaurs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
