With a big week,
West Ranch jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. West Ranch moved up from No. 34 in the state all the way to No. 10 thanks to a 3-0 record over the past week. Led by manager Casey Burrill, the Wildcats are ranked No. 84 in the nation with an overall record of 21-8.
The Wildcats (21-8, 11-4) are red-hot, having won four straight games, the longest such streak in Foothill. Three of those wins came in the past week, including a 5-4 victory over Orange Lutheran. The team's hottest hitter over the past week was
Jc Cloney, who had three hits and drove in two runs.
Saugus put just five batters on base with walks in the past week, but West Ranch's pitching staff has had the best control this season, surrendering a base on balls only 79 times in 184 innings this year.
