After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greensburg Central Catholic, the Clairton Bears were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took down Winchester Thurston 53-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Clairton also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Iyanna Wade was her usual excellent self, scoring 33 points. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was K Fuqua, who scored eight points.
Clairton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which somehow isn't as good as their 16-4 record this season. As for Winchester Thurston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
Clairton will stay at home for another game and welcome West Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Winchester Thurston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
