After losing to the Carolina M Mustangs the last time they met, the Liberty Christian Patriots decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Liberty Christian took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-24 win over Carolina M. Given Liberty Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Carolina M is ranked 644th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jakeem Bradford was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with eight assists and six steals. The matchup was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Webb, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Liberty Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Carolina M, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Greenville Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 8th. Hopefully Greenville Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Carolina M, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradford Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bradford Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
