Redwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Tayo, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Aryel Chavez, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mission Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braelyn Serpa, who scored 16 points along with 5 steals. Serpa is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Zepeda, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Redwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mission Oak, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record.
Redwood will head out on the road to face off against Arvin at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mission Oak, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monache at 6:30 p.m. Monache's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Mission Oak's offense will have their work cut out for Mission Oak.
