The Maplewood Tigers had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were the victim of a tough 59-39 loss at the hands of Sacred Heart Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sacred Heart Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Ratchuk, who scored 20 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Brooke Personius was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sacred Heart Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Maplewood will take on Union City at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Warren at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
