Savannah Country Day has gone a perfect 10-0 against Liberty County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hornets will welcome the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Savannah Country Day is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bryan County on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-3 win. The Hornets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2024.

Tyler Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Ben Lynch looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Savannah Country Day got a massive performance out of Gabe Mckinney, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four runs gave Mckinney a new career-high. Jackson Sammons was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Savannah Country Day kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Liberty County brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on Claxton with a sharp 30-12 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Landon Usher was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Liberty County's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 8-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ezzard Jemison, who scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Liberty County's victory bumped their record up to 11-14. As for Savannah Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 6-19.
Everything went Savannah Country Day's way against Liberty County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Savannah Country Day made off with a 14-4 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
