Kevin Braswell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Glascock County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Easton Davis and Jaxon Hicks did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Hicks went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Davis a new career-high. Tripp Cooper was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Glascock County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Brentwood came up short against Trinity Christian on Thursday and fell 7-3. The War Eagles haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Ethan Daniel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. JW Hitchcock also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
The victory got Glascock County back to even at 8-8. As for Brentwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Glascock County came out on top in a nail-biter against Brentwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the War Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
